HOW TO APPLY

Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy is a choice enrollment school. Please read through our admissions process to find out more about how to become a part of our great school community.

Please note, The admissions process for the 2014/15 school year has closed. Please check back in the fall of 2014 for details on admissions for the 2015-16 school year. Thank you.

Step One

Intent to Enroll Form (LINK)

Complete the KCAA intent to enroll application. This form is available here on our site or in our main office. Once completed the form can be faxed, mailed, or dropped off in the main office.

Step Three

School Choice Forms (LINK)

Denver Public Schools is requiring all students to fill out a choice enrollment form for the 2014-2015 school year. These forms are available here, on the School Choice website in our main office.

Please return your School Choice form to the KCAA main office.

Step Two

Recommendation Form (LINK)

We ask that you use the form here and we also welcome letters of recommendation in addition to the form. Recommendation forms and letters must be returned directly to the school in a sealed envelope with a signature across the seal. We are unable to accept unsealed

recommendations.

Step Four

Enrollment Event - Saturday, January __

While attending the Enrollment Event you will be interviewed by our staff, participate in an arts activity and complete a short essay.

Please bring your sealed recommendation forms if they have not been sent directly to the school in advance. We also ask you bring one artifact that you would like to share with the interview committee.

While current KCAA students receive priority admissions, any student wishing to attend 6th or 9th grade must attend the enrollment event to maintain their priority status.

October 2014 Application process begins - Round I Applications will begin to be accepted

December 2014 School of Choice forms avaiable

January __, 2015 KCAA Enrollment Event (Link to document)

January __, 2015 Round 1 School of Choice window closes.

February __, 2014 Round 2 Internal Applications accepted

March __ 2015 Round 2 school of choice applications begin. Should space be available at KCAA an additional Enrollment Event may be offered.

April __, 2014 Round 3 Enrollment begins. If you missed Rounds I & II you may be contacted for an interview as space becomes available

Choosing the right school is important, which is why we are happy to provide you with support throughout the school choice process. In order to help you determine whether KCAA is the right fit for your family we offer guided tours for families and students wanting to know more about our program.

Tours are offered on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9:00am in our Student Gallery. For more information on touring please access our Tours and Shadowing page.
